in reading is reading aloud to children. This is especially true during the pre-school years.

Enjoying Books Together
1. View books as a toy or a special gift.
2. Have books easily available to your child.
3. Place book baskets in several rooms in your house.
4. Don't forget to place books right next to your child's bed.
5. Visit the library once a week.
6. Spend an afternoon in a book store.
7. Read both fiction and nonfiction to your child.
8. Consider purchasing individual alphabet books.
9. Read ABC books.
10. Read rhyming books and leave off the rhymes and let your child guess the rhyme.
11. Discuss the illustrations.
12. Involve your child in making predictions about what will happen next in the story.
