The computer lab at Hillside is set up with 28 stations to accommodate our ever growing Hillside community. Students from Kindergarten through fifth grade receive instruction, on a weekly basis. They learn keyboarding skills, proper use of hardware, software and peripherals, Internet use and how to use the computer as a research tool. Resources are provided to teachers for the integration of technology into the classroom and they use the lab whenever it is available.
In September our students entered a national contest sponsored by iSafe, an organization that promotes Internet Safety. The contest was to design a bumper sticker about Internet safety using your own art work. We had four entries. From Miss Leders class we had Lorenzo Cotugno and Mitch Dame, and from Mr. Launer's class, Anthony Guidetti and Kelly Furey. We didn't win but I think our entries were terrific!
