Humanities Class Experience

Students who qualify for the Explorer's program participate in a weekly

one-hour pull-out program at their home school. The Humanities program

aligns with the NYS ELA and Social Studies Standards. The curriculum is

designed to move at a different pace and complement the classroom content.

HUMANITIES PROGRAM GOALS

To offer a program for high ability students that will focus on:

* Collaborative learning to solve problems

* Critical thinking skills.

* Application of knowledge and making connections to prior learning.

* A strong positive self image

* Risk-taking skills

* Independence and self-directed learning

* Reflecting and self-evaluating habits
