Craig Computer Lab



At Craig School we are very fortunate to have a full size Computer Lab, housing 28 Intel iMac desktop computers.  All Craig School students, Kindergarten through 5th Grade, visit the Computer Lab for instruction.  Proper keyboarding techniques, proper use of hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, internet etiquette, and specific application instruction are some of the technology skills that are covered. Emphasis is placed on utilizing the technology to enhance the classroom learning experience.

At any one time you may visit the lab and see students following their personal keyboarding tutorial, creating report covers, publishing storybooks, practicing math concepts, or researching information for a classroom project.
Craig School, as well as the other four elementary schools, owns a portable laptop cart of 28 iBooks.  Teachers will sign out the cart and bring it to their classroom for student use.  These iBooks are wirelessly connected to the building network, therefore allowing students to access their work from any computer in the building.



As a district we haved developed the Niskayuna Student Technology Standards that we use as a guideline for introducing, enhancing and mastering particular skills at each level.   The plan also includes curricular related activities that could be used to accomplish that task.
